Jamie Deines, the stronghold of the Public in the Fight for fair play and Home Rule in the Town of Lewis north of Rome in the TUG Hill area east of Lake Ontario is taking the concerns of the People in her Town back to the air waves again this morning July 22, 2026.
While many in the State have simply written off the Town of Lewis, and communities like West Leyden, because they typically do not have the wherewithal to fight or even negotiate with these large Wind firms, Jamie and folks like her are pushing the boundary of “Expected Rights” related tio Home Rule in the ability of Towns across the TUG Hill region, and New York State as a whole, to be able to make the decisions related to land use in their own backyard.
This morning Jamie appears on Talk of the Town yet again to pass on the concerns of the public in both Town of Lewis and West Leyden, in fact a large chunk of land stretching from Ava, through West Leyden and most of the Town of Lewis.
Those areas, that will be impacted by this new rollout of Wind Turbines that will populate the local grid, while helping to supply power to the Downstate communities no longer served by the Governors shutting down large scale Fossil fueled and Nuclear plants in the Downstate areas including Indian Point Nuclear.
